IEC Specifications for Enamelled Wire - METCHEM ASSOCIATES Requirement
A few years ago the IEC organisation added two digits to the start of each of their specification numbers in order to group the specifications in terms of their respective working committees. The group into which the specifications for enamelled wire falls is designated the prefix number 60 - thus IEC 317-0-1 becomes IEC 60317-0-1.

It should be noted that although WST applies the specification requirements of IEC 60317-7 to their C220 wire for testing purposes, the covering WST applies is actually PEI-AI not polyimide.
In terms of the required spools for item 1 for METCHEM ASSOCIATES WST has a very limited number of D355 spools obtained many years ago from WINDING WIRE ENAMELLERS in Zimbabwe. WST cannot get anymore of these spools. However, their closest equivalent to this type of spool is their SAS spool which typically holds around 35 kg of wire - can hold up to 40 kg (METCHEM requirement appears to be for a spool capacity of 45 kg per spool).

In terms of the spool requirement for item 2, the closest WST can offer is a T45 spool which is a conical spool and holds around 40 to 45 kg of wire. However, it is a home designed spool made by Johan du Preez and is slightly smaller than the 250/400 spool required by METCHEM ASSOCIATES and has given us some mechanical strength problems in that the top flange has sometimes popped off rendering the wire un-usable due to tangling.
